A Word for Wednesday

Good morning everyone and welcome to our ‘Word for Wednesday’ post.

Every Wednesday we will introduce a word you can then adopt and make your own (see yesterday’s post).

The first word we will endeavour to explain is ‘endeavour‘ (spelt endeavor in American English).

This is a verb meaning to try to do something:
‘We will endeavour to give you as much useful information as possible in our posts’.

It is also a noun which means an attempt to do something:
‘In spite of our best endeavours, we couldn’t find a funny example’.

What have you endeavoured to do lately? Were you successful?
Tell us about it and practise your English!
