A Word for Wednesday

Today’s word for Wednesday is extol, a verb meaning to praise highly.

After Brian had continuously extolled the virtues of a vegetarian diet to his friends, they decided to give it a try.

Is there anything you would extol?

  1. Dear Gardener
Thank you for today’s word. I have never before come across it . I will add it to my vocabulary with alacrity, another word I saw for the first time on this website. I extol your initiative, tips and brlliant ideas for learning English, to all my friends, with the hope it’ll effect them as much as Brian’s extolling vegetarianism effected his friends.
    Grateful for being your follower

    • Thank you Rachel,

We are equally grateful for followers such as yourself, without whom our job will be half done.
To quote a sentence we have literally just invented, ‘sharing, be it knowledge, joy or chocolates, is only sharing if there is someone to share it with.’

And here in the English Garden we do love sharing, so thank you (again) for making that possible.

      xxx
